I designed this book to be a simple step by step photo and text manual for the restorer to learn and practice the concepts of retouching. This is the book I wish I had when I started out. Retouching has become my passion over the years, so don't hesitate to e-mail me if you have any questions about retouching or about my upcoming classes.

Here's an excerpt from the first review from David Brownell, Michigan Violinmakers Association Newsletter.

"Large clear color photos throughout this book illustrate each process, and offer at least as much information as does the excellent text."

"This is a valuable book. Brian Epp very clearly describes his retouching process, starting with viewpoint, perception, and learning how to look at things; how to look at color and especially the graduations of color associated with the wood's grain and figure as well as any shading and antiquing present in the original finish."
